|EU, Canada Finish Free Trade Negotiations|
The European Union (EU) and Canada finished negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), said an EU official statement.
The new market access provided by the agreement will further improve the position of EU exporters and investors on the Canadian market. The agreement is expected to increase bilateral trade in goods and services by 22.9 percent or 25.7 billion euros (34.32 U.S. dollars), fostering growth and employment on both sides of the Atlantic. Overall, the EU-Canada agreement could lead to GDP gains for the EU of up to 11.6 billion euros per year.
